The body found on Wednesday night near the railway gate in Agwanpur was that of Shivnath (52), watchman of Banasthali Girls Inter College. Police believe that the watchman died during a road accident. On Friday, when the watchman’s wife went to the police post to lodge a missing complaint, the police showed her the photo of the incident spot.
The wife fainted after recognizing her husband’s dead body. The wife is accusing the husband’s friend of being involved in the incident. Shivnath (52), resident of Agwanpur town of Civil Lines police station area, was a watchman in Banasthali Girls Inter College. He lived in the college campus with his wife Anita.
Shivnath’s body was found late on Wednesday night, some distance away from the up line near Agwanpur railway gate. Railway personnel informed this to GRP. GRP and Agwanpur outpost in-charge Meghraj Singh reached the spot along with the soldiers. The police took the body into custody and sent it to the mortuary.
On Thursday, the police conducted post-mortem of the body anonymously and kept the body for identification. On Friday, wife Sunita reached the police post to register the missing person of her husband Shivnath. The woman told the police that on Wednesday night Sheruva, a resident of Dharampur, had gone to her house with her friend husband.
He had said that there was a son’s birthday party near Agwanpur railway station. The woman forbade her husband to go there without a feast but the husband did not listen to his wife. When Shivnath did not return home till late night, the woman became worried. She called her husband’s friend but he did not pick up the phone.
When I called again on Friday, my husband’s friend started talking directly. After a lot of searching, the woman reached the police post. Outpost in-charge Meghraj Singh said that this matter is related to GRP. GRP has conducted the post-mortem of the body.
The body of the watchman was found near Agwanpur railway gate. Both his hands are broken and he has serious head injuries. Looks like an accident. In this matter, the police will investigate after receiving the complaint from the watchman’s wife. – Rajan Sharma, station in-charge, GRP
